Homes for Sale near Los Angeles Tennis Club, Los Angeles, CA

The Los Angeles Tennis Club is a private equity sports club in the northern portion of Hancock Park at 5851 Clinton Street, Los Angeles, California. The tennis club was established in 1920 and is one of two sports clubs developed alongside the neighborhood. Founders Thomas Bundy and May Sutton took out an option on 5 and a half acres of land along Melrose Avenue, constructed by 1924 into the Los Angeles Tennis Club. The succeeding decades lead to the club becoming the center of tennis for the West Coast, cultivating multiple talents through the years. Many future Hall of Famers received excellent training and practice from the club. Today, the member-owned club currently has over 400 members with new membership requiring a $25,000 equity buy-in and board approval to get approved.

The Los Angeles Tennis Club is a premier sport and social club that is the perfect hub for gatherings, training, and fitness for its members and guests. There are 16 tennis courts within the club, two of which are Har-Tru courts, and the others are hard courts. Private and group tennis lessons are available, and clinics are regularly scheduled and lead by a team of certified tennis professionals. There are various programs geared towards different age groups and skill levels. Members can also join Cardio Tennis workouts, Live Ball workouts, match arrangements with tennis ladders, and other special events. Notable tournaments hosted in the club include the USTA, Women’s Westside League, Junior Westside League, and more. The pool area boasts a 25-yard-long heated saline pool. The pool is perfect for swimming lessons and aerobics classes and is consistently staffed to ensure swimmers’ safety. The fitness center provides state of the art training equipment with classes and personal trainers available to members. The clubhouse features a dining area and bar where you can lounge and mingle with other members or your guests. Special occasions and holidays are also celebrated with special events and activities. Function areas are available for use with proper scheduling and are perfect for small parties or meetings. There is a full-service Pro-Shop offering branded merchandise, equipment, and sportswear.
