About Angela Bond
Choosing an agent to represent one of your greatest financial investments is a very important decision. I believe that it is essential to know who you’re working with. Do you have confidence in their experience? Do you trust their character? Will you get along well? Hopefully this section will help you determine if we’d be a good fit.
*On the Real Estate Side…*
Some of my earliest memories are of watching my Grandfather build his house. We’d arrive for our Summer vacation and he’d be up on the roof installing tile or just “adding on” another bedroom. When he visited our house he’d always find some project to tackle and I loved nothing more than being his unofficial helper. He taught me about respecting a house and its story and making the most of what you’ve got.
Even when he wasn’t around I was fascinated with houses and the history that surrounded them. My mother still remembers coming home to discover that I had ripped up the entire hallway carpet to reveal the Victorian tiled floor underneath…I was eight years old at the time. She promptly replaced the carpet, but I made sure the new owners knew about the beautiful hidden tile a few years later when we sold the house.
Years later, after meeting my American husband, I moved to Los Angeles and following a brief stint in the film business I became a full time Realtor. It was my mother in law’s suggestion, she’s been a successful Realtor for years and one I’ve always been grateful for. We bought a duplex and fixed it up ourselves, learning an awful lot along the way – I love demo but hate drywalling. A few years later we sold that property and started all over again fixing up a big old 1930’s Spanish in a part of town that was pretty much ignored then but seems desirable now.
Along the way I’ve helped hundreds of clients and I’ve always thrown myself into each transaction as if it’s my own. It’s a wonderful thing to work with someone and then see them get married, have kids and start a whole new chapter of their lives. I really love being a part of someone’s story, knowing that the help I give them has a positive impact on their lives.
It used to be just me running around and trying to do everything all by myself but now I have an awesome Client Coordinator in Darlene. She’s the one checking everything gets done on time and nothing falls through the cracks. Darlene is a ray of sunshine with an infectious laugh and a “can do” attitude. I have no idea how she does it, but I suspect the huge cup of morning coffee helps!
*On the Personal Side…*
I love our big fat cat that we adopted from a NKLA event in 2016 and promptly named Baba. He always welcomes me at the front door after a long day and probably has more Instagram followers than I do.
In my free time I’m an avid movie watcher who loves drinking wine and checking out what my husband has been cooking on our wood fired grill for hours. We always cook too much and so we share it with any past clients/friends that love barbecue…seems like that’s quite a few these days.
Being a Brit living in Los Angeles has proved interesting and although it took me a couple of years to settle in, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else right now. The architecture here really appeals to me and you never have to go too far to find yourself on a hike with the wind in your hair or an amazing new restaurant to try out.
I look forward to getting to know you and finding you a spot on our barbecue list too 🙂
