I may be British but I love a good 4th of July fireworks show along with everyone else. This year will find me parked on my rooftop, as is tradition, with a chilled bottle of wine, but if I was heading out to a display I’d pick one of these below…so check out our round up of the very best places to watch 4th of July fireworks near Hancock Park!!
6000 Santa Monica Blvd
Settle into Hollywood Forever Cemetery for an Independence Day celebration that kicks off with a screening of Jurassic Park. Pack your picnic, enjoy the movie and stay on the grass for a fireworks show afterwards. Cinespia’s pulling out all the stops for their July 4th celebration, amping up their festivities with a themed photobooth, DJ and fireworks show.
301 N Rossmore Avenue
Hancock Park/Larchmont Village
Hancock Park and Larchmont Village neighbors can count on Wilshire Country Club to launch their annual fireworks show on the 4th of July. The show goes off around 9pm Tuesday evening…once the sky gets perfectly dark. If you aren’t a member or guest of the Club, the Wilshire Country Club fireworks can be seen from corners adjacent to the Rossmore/Beverly Boulevard area. Favorite corners include Rossmore and Rosewood and Beverly and Arden. Viewing is possible from farther away and other angles…a little distance allows you to have that fuller view.
2301 N Highland Avenue
Celebrate Independence Day with three-time Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix, whose hits include arrangements of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Daft Punk.” The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra joins the multi-platinum-selling recording artists for three spectacular evenings of patriotic music, thrilling fireworks and fun!
1000 Vin Scully Avenue
Elysian Park/Echo Park
Dodger Stadium hosts fireworks throughout the season, but they do it up extra on the 4th of July. Buy tickets to see the team take on the Arizona Diamondbacks and then stick around for a fireworks show you can see from your seat. To sweeten the deal, every ticket includes a limited-edition patroitic Dodgers tee shirt. While there, make sure to try a local favorite—the Doyer Dog, loaded with chili, nacho cheese, tomatoes, onions and jalapeños.
1001 Rose Bowl Drive
Americafest at the Rose Bowl is an explosive celebration of all things red, white and blue—from the classic American food, to a motorcycle stunt show, to the world-renowned fireworks display. The fireworks won’t shoot off until 9pm, but the Rose Bowl will open at 2pm Independence Day, at which time access to a goldmine of inflatable rides, games and crafts will be available for kid-friendly fun. Parking for the event will cost $20, but you can make it worth your while with an afternoon of tailgaiting outside the stadium.
